For emergencies outside regular office hours please call 613-301-9096 - DO NOT TEXT.

An after-hours maintenance emergency is a repair that requires immediate attention because the health and safety of the tenant(s) is at risk and it cannot wait until the next business day.  Examples of an after-hours emergency include situations such as fire, flood, no heat in extreme cold weather, power outages, sewer backups, malfunctioning or non-working smoke detectors, an elevator breakdown and/or someone trapped in an elevator.  In these situations call our after-hours emergency phone number.

There are a few situations when you can do something to reduce or prevent damage and/or mess.

  • To reduce damage from an overflowing toilet, close the shut off valve to the toilet tank.  This is usually found at the base of the toilet tank near the wall.  Once the toilet stops overflowing, try using a plunger to clear the obstruction.  When the obstruction is gone, you can turn the valve on again.

  • Clogged kitchen sinks can be prevented by using a strainer to catch food scraps and not putting grease down the drain.

  • Clogs in bathroom sinks and bathtub drains can be prevented by using strainers to keep hair out of the drains.  Strainers are available at most hardware stores.

  • If the roof and/or windows are leaking, contractors cannot repair them if it is raining.  In the meantime, use towels/tarps and or buckets on window sills and under the leak to limit water damage.
